Cumbria LUG
Welcome to the website wiki of the Cumbria LUG.
The website is dead! Long live the wiki! After lots of apathy and procrastinating about rejuvenating our website, our hand has been forced by some server problems at lug.org.uk so we decided to bite the bullet and implement a wiki - in particular MoinMoin. If you don't know what a wiki is, you should read WhyWikiWorks and WikiNature.
About Us
We are a group of Free and Open Source enthusiasts, based in Cumbria. Living in Cumbria is not a requirement to join however - all are welcome.
Although nominally a Linux user group, we also have an interest in all free and open source software, operating systems (including Windows - some of us have to work with it!), and pretty much anything technical.
Our members encompass all skill levels and interests, so there should be something for everyone. Membership is open to all, so get yourself involved!
Mailing List
Our primary form of communication is via our mailing list. Please subscribe and contribute to the discussion, or just browse the archives.
Please note: Due to spam on the mailing list, it is members-only. There is no restriction on membership (except for the infamous 'MR. TAMBO'), and subscribing is easy. Sorry for any inconvenience.
IRC Channel
We also have an IRC channel hosted on Freenode. The channel name is #cumbria_lug.
Meetings
Meetings have always been difficult to organise in our area, but we do our best! See Meetings for details of our future & past meetings, and how to help organise one.
Next Meeting
